Street-Art:
About Banksy
Frequently asked questions (from his homepage)
Is graffiti art or vandalism?
That word has a lot of negative connotations and it alienates people, so no, I don't like to use the word 'art' at all.
A guide to cutting stencils:
Think from outside the box.
Collapse the box and take a fucking sharp knife to it.
Leave the house before you find something worth staying in for.
People look at an oil painting and admire the use of brushstrokes to convey meaning. People look at a graffiti painting
and admire the use of a drainpipe to gain access.
The time of getting fame for your name on its own is over. Artwork that is only about wanting to be famous will never make you famous. Any fame is a by-product of making something that means something. You don't go to a restaurant and order a meal because you want to have a shit.

About Seak
Seak has made himself a name over the recent years. From the outside his pieces seem to resemble organic machinery, living space objects or cyber organisms, but he says that there is more to his style.
According to him his future style is based on a movement that has a strong aim at the fundamentals of graffiti, which are the living being and the genuine nature of letters.

Hello everyone
I am invited to the "must be written" festival held in Bielefeld. From Saturday 09.09.06 till Saturday 16.09.06 I will do a painting a piece in a street gear shop as well as a major wall in the city at Viktoriastr. 63. What should I say? I made myself some kind of reputation in the graffiti/"urbanart"/hiphop world, ;)... that kept me busy for the last 17 years. So lots of invites all-around Europe, the United States, Australia, Hongkong,.......you name it.
Lots of painted walls, new friends met, exhibitions rocked, events done, and canvases blessed. If you wanna check out more about my work feel free to google me. Privately?...well, don't aspect a total soul striptease here. I come from a subculture which is born on the streets.....you feeling me? ;) So let's keep it super visual for now. I can't wait to get on tour again. As much as I love Köln (cologne) if I stay longer than 2 month here I get bored.
